  Keeping Kids Safe in the Digital World Course Length: 60 minutes Who should take this course? Parents, educators, caregivers Course description The problem of online enticement and online sexual exploitation of children is vast and ever-growing due to our increasing reliance and use of the digital world. Enticement and sexual exploitation includes a variety of situations including predators communicating with children online with the intent to commit a sexual offense, youth being groomed online, engaging in sexual conversations with a child or teen online, and receiving child sexual abuse images and videos online. This victimization takes place across every platform including messaging apps, social media, and gaming platforms.   In this course, parents and caregivers will learn practical techniques for empowering themselves and their kids to take action against online exploitation. Keeping Kids Safe in the Digital World consists of 3 modules:   Module 1: Online Exploitation  This module is an introduction to youth internet use and online exploitation and covers key topics like:   What online exploitation is and where it happens  How exploitation can lead to human trafficking  Why youth are especially vulnerable to victimization online  How predators and traffickers identify, coerce, and control victims on the internet  Signs of potential victimization  Module 2: Digital Safeguarding  In this module, you will discover the most important digital safeguarding tools and techniques for protecting kids online. Through interactive scenarios, personal reflection, and engaging videos, you will learn how to use the 3 Ts of Online Safety. Upon completion of this module you'll be empowered and equipped to take action immediately!  Module 3: A True Story  In the final module of the three-part series, you’ll follow an average American teenager as he becomes a victim of online exploitation. But in this module, it will be up to you to intervene at the most important moments in this teen’s story to keep him safe. Modern Slavery Awareness (Accredited) 1. Who is this training for? This training session is for professionals in Buckinghamshire who may come into contact with a potential victim of human trafficking and modern slavery.  2. How long are the training sessions? Each product splits into 2 x 90 minute sessions and both are delivered on either a morning or afternoon with a 30-minute break. Please check the time slots allocated to the dates. 3. How is the training delivered? The following products are available online in a virtual classroom setting via Microsoft Teams. The link is located on your learner account. You need to ensure you have good wifi access, settings compatible with MS Teams (check your workplace server) and an up to date internet browser. 4. What level of training is this? The training is accredited by CPD UK Accreditation level. Those who have opted to evidence this are required complete a pre and post evaluation and attain a pass mark. The pre-evaluation must be completed before the session starts. Those who are successful are issued certification for 3 CPD UK points. This requires consent for your email to participate which was at the point of booking. 5. What else is provided for the delegate? In your learning account you have access to all that you need for the training and you can download it in preparation for the class. You may wish to print off the resources or have them open on another screen but please be aware that if you use your phone the documents will likely be difficult to view. Those who are particularly interested in identification of victims of modern slavery or human trafficking due to their professional and volunteer activities in the community. 2. How long are the training sessions? 30 minutes elearning 90 minutes live session 60 minutes post online learning 3. How is the training delivered? Your learning starts by using the eLearning Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking in the United Kingdom: Know It, See It, and Respond... This will shed light on the myths and facts of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking in the UK. You'll learn what makes some people more vulnerable than others to being victimised by a trafficker; the industries, places and situations that are often leveraged by perpetrators for exploitation; why this egregious crime goes undetected so often and most importantly, how you can spot the signs of human trafficking in everyday situations and take appropriate action on behalf of victims. This prepares you to engage effectively in the 90 mins live session where the spot the signs are explored further. This enhances your skills of identification when engaging with others from the community and statutory agencies. This community way of learning from your local network provides a robust approach to prevention. Further learning is offered where there is a 60 min total of online training resources to complete your learning that matches your training needs. These include Frequently asked Questions, Legislation overview and procedures. 4. What level of training is this? The training is accredited by CPD UK Accreditation level. Learn skills focused in early trauma-informed response Receive 2 hours online learning modules for free £30 but discounted to £5 1. Who is this training for? Those who are first responders, professionals and those supporting first responders who may come into contact with potential victims of modern slavery and human trafficking - first responders, law-enforcement, safeguarding, social care, healthcare, NGOs focused on vulnerabilities 2. How long are the training sessions? 60 minutes elearning and pre-session modules 90 minutes live lunchtime highly interactive session 30 minutes post online learning modules 3. How is the training delivered? Your learning starts by completing the eLearning and selected modules about the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) and the principles of a trauma-informed response. If you wish to receive CPD accreditation for this course, all of the pre-elements are required. This prepares you to engage effectively in the 90 mins live session where a staged case study of a potential victim explores how you respond. This enhances your trauma-informed response skills in the context of legislative measures, such as the NRM. The learning emphasis is on trauma-informed response. Further learning is offered where there is a 30 min total of online training resources to complete your learning that matches your training needs. These include Frequently asked Questions, Legislation overview and procedures. 4. What level of training is this? The training is accredited by CPD UK Accreditation level.
