Modern Slavery Awareness (Accredited)

1. Who is this training for?

This training session is for professionals in Buckinghamshire who may come into contact with a potential victim of human trafficking and modern slavery. 

2. How long are the training sessions?

Each product splits into 2 x 90 minute sessions and both are delivered on either a morning or afternoon with a 30-minute break. Please check the time slots allocated to the dates.

3. How is the training delivered?

The following products are available online in a virtual classroom setting via Microsoft Teams. The link is located on your learner account. You need to ensure you have good wifi access, settings compatible with MS Teams (check your workplace server) and an up to date internet browser.

4. What level of training is this?

The training is accredited by CPD UK Accreditation level. Those who have opted to evidence this are required complete a pre and post evaluation and attain a pass mark. The pre-evaluation must be completed before the session starts. Those who are successful are issued certification for 3 CPD UK points. This requires consent for your email to participate which was at the point of booking.

5. What else is provided for the delegate?

In your learning account you have access to all that you need for the training and you can download it in preparation for the class. You may wish to print off the resources or have them open on another screen but please be aware that if you use your phone the documents will likely be difficult to view. You should have the following downloadable documents for your class:

  • Responding to Modern Slavery booklet (CPD Certified) - Currently under review due to UK government legislative changes in 2023
  • Spot the signs exercise for breakout rooms
  • Multilingual posters
  • MSHT self-identifying flyers

6. Who delivers the training?

The virtual classroom training is delivered by a trainer who is a subject matter specialist. The trainer draws from the experience of working with victims of modern slavery within Hope for Justice and their experience supporting victims out of exploitation.

7. What is the training style?

The training utilises varied learning mediums such as videos, PowerPoint style presentation, group discussions and case studies using a 'break-out room' feature

Objectives

At the end of this training, the learner will be able to:

  • Explain what modern slavery is and identify the different types that exist
  • Recognise the signs and indicators of the different types of modern slavery and human trafficking
  • Respond appropriately if a victim of modern slavery is identified
  • Outline the National Referral Mechanism process

By completing/passing this course, you will attain the certificate CPD HfJ 3 hour certificate
